Quality of life assessment in patients with temporomandibular disorder with stabilization splints and home therapeutic exercises: a randomized clinical trial

Objective: The present study aimed to evaluate the quality of life in TMD patients with use Stabilization Splints (SSs) and Home Therapeutic Exercises (HTEs) guidance. Material Methods: was a clinical, randomized, controlled, prospective, interventional trial. screening included dentate both genders, diagnosed through RDC/TMD questionnaire no TMJ osteoarthritis and/or osteoarthrosis. To assess life, Short-Form Health Survey (SF-36) applied all (n=70), randomized into test group SS control HTE. evaluations questionnaires were performed before after intervention 12 weeks. Results: comparisons between pre- post-intervention intragroups by non-parametric Wilcoxon 5% significance level. There frequency distribution responses 36 items SF-36 times. In group, 49 received did HTEs. 21 statistical analysis, among eight domains, three identified significant scores: pain, mental health, vitality.
